What industries does VistaTek serve?
The advantageous element of VistaTek is our array of technologies in-house. We are not limited to any certain industry. We have customers from medical, agriculture, electronics to consumer goods. With over 1600 customers and many years in business, we have touched on almost every industry.
What file formats does VistaTek need for moldmaking?
VistaTek can take native SolidWorks and Pro-E files along with STEP and IGES files. For quoting purposes, we can use all of the above (native solidWorks or STEP preferred) and also use .stl, .pdf.
Can you work from a sketch or a 2-D file?
We do need a 3D CAD model to produce your mold and injection molded part, but we can quote off of 2D files.
Am I able to do more than just a single cavity open-close mold?
Yes. We work with customers and are capable of undercuts, hand pick-outs, manual slides, multi-cavitation, automated p-20 steel molds, and more. Another differentiating advantage with VistaTek is that if you need to modify the mold, you can, because you own the mold.
What are the advantages to aluminum tools/molds for injection molding vs. P-20 carbon steel?

How many parts can you produce via injection molding with aluminum tooling?
This all depends on the material and the complexity of the mold, but aluminum is much stronger than it's reputation. We have run 300,000+ parts of of a single cavity aluminum tool, and there have been articles written about Honda Motors making 1,000,000 plus.
What materials can we shoot on our injection molding presses?
The varieties of materials that we can run in our injection molding presses are virtually endless. Here are just a few examples of materials we have run: ABS, Polycarbonate, Nylon, Glass-filled Nylon, Acetyl, ULTEM, PEEK, Polypropylene, HDPE, LDPE, Polysulfone, etc.
