Tool Room Technician / Mold Maintenance Technician - 1st shift
We are seeking an experienced Tool Room Technician to join our fast-paced plastic molding facility. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, CNC experience, and hands-on mold maintenance and repair knowledge.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on molds and tooling
- Troubleshoot and complete mold/tool repairs
- Operate and program CNC Vertical Mill
- Operate shop equipment including grinders, mills, lathes
- Polish molds and tooling surfaces
- Manage and track tool room consumables and inventory
- Monitor tooling performance and maintenance trends
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to meet deadlines
- Experience in a molding/manufacturing environment required
- Knowledge of mold maintenance and repair procedures
- Experience with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and indicators
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and Autodesk/PowerMill
- Ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings
- Basic computer skills including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Forklift experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork skills

Process Tehnician- Injection Molding
VistaTek is a growing custom injection molding company specializing in medical, industrial, and consumer products. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on Process Technician who enjoys solving problems, optimizing processes, and bringing new products to life. This position plays a critical role in developing robust molding processes, validating new tooling, and supporting production with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and document injection molding processes for new and existing products.
- Lead the validation of new molds through IQ/OQ/PQ and customer-specific validation protocols.
- Establish robust molding windows using scientific molding principles.
- Perform mold sampling, capability studies, and process development.
- Troubleshoot molding, tooling, and material issues to maximize uptime and product quality.
- Set up, start, and optimize injection molding machines.
- Process a variety of engineering and commodity resins.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Production teams during new product launches.
- Create and maintain process documentation, setup sheets, and work instructions.
- Monitor production processes and recommend improvements to reduce scrap and improve cycle times.
- Support automation, robotics, and auxiliary equipment during process development.
- Train setup technicians and production personnel on established molding processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of injection molding process technician experience preferred.
- Experience validating new molds and establishing production-ready processes.
- Strong understanding of scientific molding principles.
- Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation or equivalent process validation methods.
- Ability to troubleshoot molding defects, tooling concerns, and processing challenges.
- Experience with hot runner systems, mold cooling, and mold maintenance.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional requirements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- RJG Scientific Molding certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in medical or cleanroom molding environments.
- Knowledge of automation, robotics, and vision systems.
- Experience with DOE (Design of Experiments), SPC, and process capability studies.
- Understanding of plastics materials and resin behavior.
